I have been researching my family tree and my wife's family tree since 2005. I have a family Bible for my father's side of the family which dates back to the 1760s. It includes birth details for 7 generations. My great x4 Grandfather John SPENCER (1837-1804) was born in Shelsley Walsh, Worcestershire his children are the earliest who are mentioned in the family Bible. John's descendants were all born in Monmouthshire or Glamorgan, South Wales right up to Grandfather’s generation and to his eldest child. My maternal Grandmother was born in Cardiff one of 10 children her father was Greek and her mother Irish. Through family history research I have made contact with many of her siblings’ descendants. My late father was born in Yorkshire, England. My late mother was born on the Isle of Wight, England. Through my own knowledge and contacts via the Internet I have been able to trace relatives in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, various parts of the UK and the USA whose ancestors came from the Isle of Wight. Since 2010 I have been the Editor of the Isle of Wight Family History Society quarterly journal. I am also a member of the Glamorgan FHS, Gwent FHS and the Wiltshire FHS.
