Janes's Profile
Wolverhampton

Apart from history my interests are playing tennis, walking (2 dogs make that a pretty essential interest), gardening and reading.

Within the history field I am interested in family history, the history of Worfield Parish, Shropshire and graveyards. I would also like to encourage the preservation and publication of funeral eulogies as a record of a person's life.

Hi Jane,

Have you checked out the National Archives Newspaper search?

http://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/?ukwid=679617&sourceid=0&utm_source=Google+British+Newspaper+Archive_CPC&utm_medium=archive&utm_campaign=newspapers

I have subscribed and found it very useful, however you have to pay and the copyright is pretty ridiculous.

Best wishes Peter

Jane.....

I've been researching my family (the Bakers) and was delighted to see the will of my great-great-great uncle, James Baker. My direct line is down through William Humpage Baker and his son Willis Baker. It was really great to find this information and I was wondering how you came to find it and why you put it onto the web-site (a relative, perhaps?).

I have a particular interest in William Humpage's son, Willis, because he and his wife (Alice Mary) were killed in an accident around March/April 1895. We don't know what the accident was but we have seen a mention of Willis in a Probate Calender. Do you have any information that might through light on the accident (Express and Star news items are all on microfiche)?

I was wondering if you have any information on a relative of mine?  His name is George Grosvenor and was born in Wolverhampton in 1813.  George is my 3x Great grandfather.  I visited Stafford archives last weekend but couldn't find any information.

Thanks

Darren Grosvenor

Your collection of old photos of bangalore is priceless. My mother studied and worked in Goodwills schools during the years 1950-2004, and would be touched to see these photos. My house in India was just behind Goodwills school.

Hi Jane.

First batch is up!!! I'll try and do proper dates for some of them - i've put 1000 as they're hiding in another family tree somewhere
