Frederick Evans obituary
He had been an assistant teacher at Worfield but came from Dawley. The funeral procession was more than a quarter of a mile long and the mourners over 700. The service was in the Wesleyan Chapel.

Worfield Show is planned for August Bank Holiday and there is a new class for farmers for oats, mangolds, sugar beet and potatoes. There are also many interesting motor cycle events.
The tennis club has got a fair membership. The tournament is to be held at the beginning of July and if anyone hasn’t got a racquet they should state their case to the Sec. Through the kindness of friends there are also some balls available for practice purposes

The Mothers’ Union had a trip to Bakewell ‘The drive home was full of hilarity and the fun reached its height as we watched the elation of those who did succeed and the dejection of those who didn’t succeed in buying little packets of fish and chips just before closing hour at a wayside shop in Wolverhampton.’
