More from janes

You know how a simple job becomes a bit of a nightmare? Well so it was with this section. I had left a page out and still managed to duplicate a page and leave a page out of the June issue. I have put that as a separate item. Apologies. The vicar has set one of his quizzes again and the answers are interesting. there are shops for groceries at Bromley, Roughton, Wyken, Hilton, Worfield, Oldington, Ackleton, Chesterton and Stratford Brook and a butchers at Wyken and a poulterers at Hilton. The Nursing Association is reported on. Sadly the Flower Show and the Worfield Band are to be no more. There was a thunderstorm in March and Roughton was badly affected. The vicar is really good at recording the detail for posterity. The officers of the cricket club for the 1936 season are listed and the WI is having an outing to Llandudno. the Rindleford Road has been repaired and the Chesterton to Kingslow road will be done shortly. Poor old Vicar Lee has some harsh words to say to his parishioners about their lack of attendance. Support me or I will leave.
