Around the year 2000 a visitor to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary just prior to its closure, noticed these donations boards. Some appeared to be on paper and were already being lost. This is a record made of some of the boards, from the eighteenth through to the beginning of the twentieth century. The amounts donated in some cases are huge.

So much history is contained in documents/artefacts such as these, and it's so easily lost...

This site is privately funded. If you would like to towards the extension of this archive we can digitise more and still keep access free.
