St Peter and St Pauls Roman Catholic Church Wolverhampton Giffard House Wolverhampton

created by KateHW

Not to be confused with St Peters Collegiate Church, which lies close by, St Peter and St Pauls was originally a Mass House within the Wolverhampton town house of the Catholic Giffard family of Chillington Hall. The Presbytery and Chapel within Giffard House itself date from 1727-29:  the church  dates from 1826 and was originally the Church of St Marie and St John, later re-named St Mary and St John.
