The Cunliffes lived at Bradeney for many years, early twentieth century definitely and possibly earlier. Were they responsible for building Bradeney House or did that happen before their arrival?
When the last of the Cunliffes (Margaret, a spinster) died, the house was sold and the paperwork destroyed. It may be that all the photographs were also lost at that point. Bob Adams was there when a large bonfire was burning and paperwork was being thrown out of an upstairs window. He was told to take what he wanted and he gathered together a small bundle which included postcards and other oddments. Very sad.
The postcards tell a story of a family which was very wealthy and with an address in London and perhaps elsewhere in England.
